The 9th Relativistic Aspects of Nuclear Physics workshop (RANP2013) will be held from September 23 to 27, 2013 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The conference venue will be the Centro Brasileiro de Pesquisas Físicas. The series of workshops started in 1989, aiming to bring together people working in hadron physics, with special emphasis on high-energy heavy ion collisions and the phases of strong interactions. The idea of this series of meetings is also to give a general view on the frontier of present research activities in the field and indicate directions for future developments, e.g. in QCD dynamics and the QGP, relativistic heavy ion physics and high energy astrophysics and cosmology.

This will be a very special edition, since it celebrates the 70th birthday of Prof. Takeshi Kodama, who has given so many contributions to the field and also to all of the the Brazilian physics community. A special event will take place at CBPF during the Workshop. So, it will be a time for very interesting and informal scientific discussions, as is usually the case in RANP, but also to meet your friend Kodama and celebrate with many others.
