Accommodation & Venue

Attendees will be accommodated at CERN Hostel.

The Hostel

CERN Hostel is located inside CERN site.

Booking

The rooms have been pre-booked for the days of the meeting:

• Room type: 20 Single Shower;
• Room rate: 58 CHF per night.

The confirmation of the bookings will be done by the organization at the closure of the registration – on the 15th of march – taking into account the exact dates communicated in the registration form.

The venue

The courses will be held partially at Technoparc in Saint-Genis Pouilly (3km from CERN Meyrin site) and partially in Lab27 at CERN.

How to get to the venue:

• coming from Geneva, Tram 18 reaches CERN every 10 minutes during the day (check the timetable here); 
• coming from the Airport, Bus Y reaches directly CERN (check the timetable here); there's also a shuttle service from the Airport to CERN, Circuit 4, available from Monday to Friday (check the info here)

Check the site of public transport in Geneva to find other solutions.
The tickets are sold at automatic machines at every tram stop and cannot be bought in advance. The price is 3,50 CHF (ticket "Tout Genève" [check here all the kinds of tickets]); it's possible to pay in swiss francs, euros or by credit card (with the pin code) [check here all the ways of payment].

After having reached CERN, participants to the training should look for Entrance B, tell the security guard their name, show their ID card and tell the name of the training (see below) and finally reach Building 27 (check the map here) 20 minutes before the beginning of the course and they will be brought to the appropriate venue by car-sharing.

How to access CERN:

To access CERN it is enough to tell the security guards at the entrances your name, show an ID card and tell that you're going to attend the PicoSEC training. The guards already have the list of the participants to the training.

Meals

Lunches will be held in Restaurant BALLADINE at Technoparc, and will be paid by the project.
The social dinner will take place at Restaurant "La Buvette des Bains" near the Lake of Geneva and the participants will have to pay for that.

Visit to CERN labs

A guided tour of CERN labs is scheduled during the training: please remember that in order to be allowed to join it you must

• show a valid ID card;
• not wear heels or open shoes.

On Tuesday 23rd, the participants will have to gather at 16:40 in fornt of Building 33 (check the map here) for the visit to CERN labs SM18.
