1 HEPiX Report (Chuck Boeheim, SLAC)
This was an oral report on the recent St.Louis HEPiX meeting at the Genome Centre. One of the members of the Centre was formerly of FNAL. The HEPiX community felt that involving other fields of science is valuable especially as many of the labs are now multi-disciplinary. In addition, the Sanger Institute from the UK in genetics/biology (funded by the Welcome Trust) participated in HEPiX.
The HEPiX meeting also had meetings of the two IHEPCCC working groups on storage (see the report by Andrei) and benchmarking. There other key areas of interest were virtualization and facilities. The next HEPiX meeting is in CERN on May 5.
2 Storage Working Group (Andrei Maslennikov, CASPUR)
Andrei presented a status report and his slides are available on the Indico page.
3 IHEPCCC Future Directions
Guillermo presented his thoughts on possible IHEPCCC roles in helping the "other countries" improve their computing situation. His slides are also available on the Indico page.
4 IHEPCCC Report to ICFA
RSobie presented the status of the current draft of the report. It needs to be finalized in about 1 month in order to be ready for the Feb 11 ICFA meeting. A number of sections remain to be written. A section of environmental issues (Green IT) will be included in the ICFA report. A few people have already forwarded some information on the environmental requirements at their sites. It would be valuable if people could read the current report and send in comments.
