I will talk about recent developments of factorization theorems for Drell-Yan and DIS processes at small transverse momentum. Using effective field theory methods it is possible to get a consistent definition of the transverse momentum distribution and deduce its anomalous dimension at NNLL. I will discuss also a new way to implement the evolution which allows one to relate processes at different energy scales in a model-independent way. Our results can be applied to similar processes at the LHC
