For those who wish for transport to and from Arturo Benitez International Airport in Santiago, please send an email to Carla Vásquez (carla.vasquez@usm.cl) with your flight information and the hour of arrival and departure. The cost for a single passenger transport is 120 USD or 60.000 CLP. For transport with other conference attendees, the cost will be 40.00 USD or 20.000 CLP. Attendees who do NOT contact Carla Vasquez to arrange for transportation cannot travel with other participants who reserved transportation. 
The transport will wait up to 30 minutes after the anticipated time of departure. Participants who do NOT arrive in time for their transport will need to take public transportation or taxi to Viña del Mar. For information regarding travel to Viña del Mar via public transport, please see the web site.
Daily transport to/from the University will be available each day of the conference at the entrance of Hotel San Martin, passing by Hotel Monterilla at the corner of 3 Poniente, with the same return route. For passengers not staying at these locations, there are several ways of public transport at with easy access to the University. Anyone can take a very frequent bus on 1 Norte going to Valparaiso (towards the ocean) and get out at the stop Universidad Santa Maria (It takes 10-15 min). The timetable for the arranged daily transportation will be made available in the program of the conference.
Registration fee:
The payment of the registration fee is accepted as CASH only. We accept the following currencies as payment:
Dollars: 300 USD
Euros: 250 Euros
Pesos Chilenos: 150.000 CLP
Payment will be made upon registration, including the cost of the excursion, the conference dinner and transport (to/from airport). Full payment (registration fee plus excursion, dinner, and transport) must be made in a single form of currency.
We accept CASH only payment. At the University there are several ATM machines available.
We have three options for excursions, which will occur on Friday afternoon, December 20th. 
A) Trip to Cachagua: Tour along the coast of Cachagua, where you will spend time walking along the beach, observing the birds, especially penguins, on a nearby island.
B) Trip through the hills of Valparaíso: Get to know the colorful port city of Valparaíso with a bus / walking tour through the hills of Valparaíso with stops at beautiful views and museums.  This option is no longer available because it did not have enough interested participants.
C) Trip to the vineyards: Chile is known as one of the world leaders in wine production, and in this excursion you will visit the vineyards of the Valley of Casablanca where you will see the production process and enjoy a wine tasting.
While it is summer in Chile, weather can be somewhat unpredictable. Fortunately, it is unnecessary to bring an umbrella or rain gear, but you should be prepared from hot afternoons and sun, and cool nights with wind, as well as foggy mornings.  Layers are recommended. For those participating in active excursions, please bring walking shoes and hats. And while the beach is nearby and a great place to relax, the ocean is very cold, and perhaps not ideal for bathing.
Country status:
For participants arriving Saturday 14 or Sunday 15, please be aware that the national elections occur on Sunday, December 15th. For this reason, restaurants, bars and other stores may be closed Saturday night and Sunday. However, transportation will be available during this time.
