News === moving towards LCG 54 - - the ROOT production release 5.18.00 has been announced for Jan. 18 - There are still a few windows problems have to be sorted out. request for new packages valgrind frontier_client Round Table === Atlas --- Problems with symlinks generated in the InstallArea reported CMS --- Looking into ROOT 5.17.08. A major problem has been spotted causing some tests to have segmentation violations. Currently checking together with Philippe Canal. LHCb --- repeated problems with the .cache files for the releases have been spotted for windows and mac. These have to be done by hand, because the file times on the build machine and afs are different and then times get screwed up. The solution is to re-run the SealPluginDump by hand after the installation in afs. As the Seal PluginManager shall be replaced soon this will be done for the next round of releases. There were several bugs submitted to the CMT Savannah entry. These have not been changed for some time. We need to contact the CMT developers to have a closer look. POOL --- Request to have the log files for builds and tests on afs. These log files are available at e.g. /afs/cern.ch/sw/lcg/app/nightlies/dev/Thu/COOL/COOL-preview/logs/ Andrea is using the Savannah project for the nightly builds to sum up the problems. Aob === - osx upgrade to Leopard - to be discussed in the AF, no big issues expected.
