The present CMB and LSS data point towards the possibility of a strong
scale dependence of the scalar spectral index. With this motivation, we
will analyze generic features of flat-tree level potentials lifted by
radiative corrections. We will see how the presence of
non-renormalizable operators can help to explain the indications of a
running index. We will describe the results of fitting the data using
the primordial spectra derived from these classes of models and compare
the results to the ones obtained with the standard parameterizations.
