Be prepared for possible heavy rain!

Bergen is located on the west coast of Norway, approximately 350 km west of Oslo. The best way to get here is by plane. From the airport (Flesland) there are daily connections to Oslo (SAS), Copenhagen (SAS), and Amsterdam (KLM).

The conference will be held at the Department of Physics and Technology, which is located in the center of the city (at the red arrow on the map below). The best way to get there from the airport is by bus (100 NOK, approx. 12 EUR). The two operating companies from the airport are findable at http://flybussen.no/en and http://www.flybussbergen.no/index.php?id_lang=1. The bus stops are indicated by blue "B"s on the map. To go to directly to the Physics Department, use the first stop in the center of the city (Busstasjonen/Buss station). The stops are announced in english on the bus. Then walk along Stromgaten until you reach Allegaten, where you make a left. The Department is at the end of Allegaten at street number 55. It's a little bit uphill, but the walk only takes about 5 min.

To go from the bus to any of the hotels, it's best to ask the bus driver which stop is best to use.

A taxi from the airport to the center of the city costs about 350-450 NOK (approx. 45-55 EUR).

The location of some of the recommended hotels are shown by the red dots on the map below. Hotel Park Pension is at the intersection of Stromgaten/Allegaten. Link to Google Maps of the The Physics Department here. A map of the area around the physics department with the location of the lecture halls is available here (pdf).
