Description
The Les Houches Accord event format has been immensely successful so far in its usage with information from matrix-elements to the general-purpose parton shower generators. The Les Houches Event File (LHEF) accord introduced in 2006 standardizes the way such event files are currently structured. With the evolution of matrix-element-based generators from LO to NLO and the need to store various event properties, such as weights associated with scale, PDFs, and suggested shower starting scales, etc., changes in the current format are required. These talks provide an overview of the current proposals of LHEF in order to facilitate discussions among generator authors,as well as its usage with the LHC experiments.
