The schedule for this Journal Club on String Theory will be as follows:
1) The latest news in the world of strings
Please bring papers that caught your recent attention and briefly summarize motivations, methods and results.
2) "Kaluza-Klein relics from warped reheating", discussion led by James Cline
Abstract: After brane-antibrane inflation in a Klebanov-Strassler
throat, closed string modes including KK gravitons are produced by the
brane-antibrane annihilation. Due to isometries of the throat's angular
directions, some of these KK modes would be stable, creating a problem of heavy
relics. Gluing the throat to the bulk Calabi-Yau weakly breaks the isometries
and allows the KK relics to decay, leading to constraints on the warp factor in
the throat, and on the scale of SUSY breaking.
Hope to see you all!!
