Description
Abstract: Time-varying magnetic fields induce hysteresis effects in iron parts of accelerator magnets. Especially during injection, the remanence of synchrotron magnets may be particularly harmful. The talk describes the standard techniques for including hysteresis models in finite-element simulations for accelerator magnets. The accuracy of several hysteresis models are compared. The influence of saturation and remanence on the aperture field harmonics is studied.
