Antwerp lies about 45 kilometers north of Brussels and can be easily reached by air, rail or road. More information about Antwerp (including a map) can be found at www.visitantwerpen.be.
Travel to Antwerp by air
From Brussels airport there are two convenient options to get to Antwerp.
The first option is by rail. There are 2 trains per hour leaving directly for Antwerp, with a traveltime of about 40 minutes Please check the website of the Belgian national railways for timetables. The trains leave the railway station from level -1 .
An other option is to take a shuttle bus (45 minutes travel times outside peak hours) which goes directly to Antwerp with only two stops ( second and last stop is at Antwerp Central Station which is closest to the Workshop venue and hotels). This shuttle bus leaves the airport each hour, on the hour (see timetable). from one level below the arrivals level and a ticket costs € 10,-.
A direct taxi from Brussels airport to Antwerp will cost about € 100,-.
Please check the website of the Belgian national railways for timetables. Antwerp lies on the Thalys network and is served by direct high-speed trains between Amsterdam and Paris. The Thalys train from Köln and Eurostar train from London go to Brussels where you have to change to an Inter-City train to Antwerp.
Travel to Antwerp by road
The main motorways leading to Antwerp are the E-19 (from Breda in the north and Brussels in the south), E-34 (from Eindhoven/Duisburg), E-313 (from Liège/Aachen) and E-17 (from Gent/Lille). There are no free parking spaces in the city center but ample underground paying parking lots. There is one free parking area outside of the city center, about a 30 min walk from the Workshop venue.
