Description
Additive Manufacturing often referred to as 3D printing is emerging as a promising manufacturing technology. Several groups at CERN and its associated Detectors are exploring this technology regarding to the possibilities it offers today and in the coming years for instrumentation development in the area of High Energy Physics. The Knowledge Transfer Group (KT) at CERN is organizing in collaboration with several groups at CERN and with the LHC experiments a one day workshop taking place on November 5th 2014 under the title “Challenges on Additive Manufacturing for High Energy Physics”. The purpose of the workshop is to explore the coming challenges by gathering a selected community of experts coming from CERN, its associated Detectors, academia and industry.
