Description

From the experimental point of view, two of the most profound hints towards physics beyond the Standard Model come from cosmological observations: the presence of dark matter as well as the baryon asymmetry. One well motivated framework to explain the baryon asymmetry is leptogenesis, with interesting connections to neutrino physics. In this talk I will discuss recent progress in describing the dynamics of leptogenesis in a systematic approach based on nonequilibrium quantum field theory, and discuss implications in particular for the resonant enhancement mechanism.
