Summary
The CERN Web Services that provides a range of technologies and platforms to meet the various needs of CERN’s user communities for effective and flexible Web content and Web application creation. We will summarise the status and evolution of the CERN Web Services, including Life cycle management of Web sites and Web site analytics. Furthermore, as two key elements for enhancing CERN’s Enterprise Web Experience in order to facilitate information and knowledge creation and sharing, we will present our recently introduced Enterprise Social Networking platform and the evolution of our CERN enterprise Search solution.
CERN’s Enterprise Social Networking (ESN) system provides the framework for effective and dynamic communication. ESN systems add value to an organization by encouraging information sharing, capturing knowledge, enabling action and empowering people. Another important aspect for the Web experience is the CERN enterprise search solution that provides access not only to public Web pages but furthermore to a wide range of protected information and CERN document repositories such as CDS, Indico, Twiki, SharePoint, JIRA and EDMS. We will present the recent and upcoming changes and enhancements to the CERN Search solution.
