BI/TB on Evian follow-up #2

Europe/Zurich
CERN

CERN

Hermann Schmickler (CERN)

Proposed follow-up:

1) Tool for quick status overview:

- Question of who should be allowed to update the status of a system (Enrico, system owner, or ?) to be clarified.

- Enrico to provide a version of the tool on a CERN web-server by January 2015 and demonstrate the functionality with realistic use-cases.

- To release the pressure, no publically available

2) DC BCT questions answered

- Michael well advanced with the VD80 based system

- 24-bit ADC electronics remains development/spare due to questions of radiation hardness

- Status update by February 2015

3) New firmware for Normal BPM and Interlocked BPM systems (Guillaume)

- Andrea to finish debugging of firmware (interrupt issue)

- BI/SW to finalise and run test programs for different acquisition modes (test bench in lab)

- Decision by early 2015 - sector tests useful for FIFO and Capture with beam

4) BFCCM (David)

- Discussion for fast timing dependency to be discussed ad-hoc (Hermann, David)

- Clarification regarding the threshold handling = f(Energy) needed (M. Zerlauth et al MPP)

- Question of phase-compensated attenuators to be seen with M. Wendt

- External help with commissioning the system (OP or??)

5) BSRT (G. Trad)

- Large error-bars on simulations (would test beam facility help?)

- Software specifications still pending (any dates given?)

6) Feedback regarding the BI/TB

- Suggest that the whole BI Group are informed about it's existance and request those interested inscribe here: https://e-groups.cern.ch/e-groups/Egroup.do?egroupId=10133858

- Speakers are requesting to be warned before the meeting (if possible two weeks!)

- Question about the most suited room (866 2-D05 or 864 1-C02) ??

- Standing topic: Enrico to report on LHC commissioning plans ?
