FIO has proposed to use a virtual machine which is currently being setup. - A refurbishment was done in the printer room. A new rack has been installed. In addition to the current machines the "Multicore WP" server and a new 24 port switch have been installed. A UPS is also in place and will be connected when the appropriate power cords are delivered. - A new tool for source code cross referencing - opengrok - was tried out. It seems to be very promising - fast and with a good search functionality. We are currently in discussion with IT whether this can be run through one of their Tomcat servers. -- S/W - The following LCG configurations have been released - 54g - https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/SPI/LcgConfiguration54g - 55 - https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/SPI/LcgConfiguration55 - 55a - https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/SPI/LcgConfiguration55a - New s/w installations in the external area - ROOT 5.20 ( now installed in the ../app/release/... area !!! ) - HepMC 2.04.00 - frontier_client 2.7.8 - lapack 3.1.1 - blas 20070405 - CMT 20080722 (i.e. repo snapshot - now available in ../lcg/external/... area !!! ) - dcache srm + dcap 1.8.0-4 + Next actions - follow up on opengrok installation possibility (probably not before mid Aug.) - dynamic S/W pages with Yves - port of LCG/AA to VC9
