New external packages have been installed
---
blas - 20070405
lapack - 3.1.1
igProf - V5-00-01
cmt - v1r20p20080703
Blas and lapack have been compiled as archive and shared libraries.
igProf has been installed from a binary version provided by J. Apostolakis. It was mentioned that there is another tool igTrace which might be of interest for the developers.
The cmt version is a snapshot of the repository after several fixes have been applied. The new version has been installed in the lcg external are /afs/cern.ch/sw/lcg/external/CMT together with the last 4 production versions of CMT. Stefan asked for trying out the new version in the lcg area. (Note: Currently cmt versions, used in production, are still taken from the /afs/cern.ch/sw/contrib area)
SVN

On Fri. July 4 a presentation was done in the post-C5 meeting concerning the IT proposal for a new svn service. All attendees showed interest in principle. However, the time needed to prepare and test svn and re-train the user-developers in the experiments is significant and the resources for this are not available in the experiments on the time-scale proposed in the slides.
Nightly builds
---
- A new version of the nightly build scripts has been deployed on Wednesday. It contains major code cleanup, making the nightly build scripts more generic to allow easier deployment for the different users. A few problems including permission problems and installation of GAUDIATLAS into afs have been found and fixed. Two problems are pending. The tests of all projects are properly executed on the build nodes, the re-syncronisation of the test logs for some projects (e.g. GAUDI, POOL) does not happen and thus the information is not available on the summary web page. The second problem is that the mails with possible error messages are not sent. Both are under investigation.
- The dev (preview) slot has been executed with a new version of Boost (1.35.0). It was proposed to move this version now into the dev1 (55 patches) branch.
- Since Thursday a new version of HepMC 2.3.8 has been tested in the dev (preview) slot. After the final OK from LHCb this version can also be moved into the dev1 (55 patches branch).
