Participants: * K. Elsener, E. Adli, D. Schulte, F. Antoniou, Y. Papaphillipou, R. Tomas, O. Mete, B. Dalena, M. Martini, H. Burkhardt, A. Samoshkin, T. Lefevre DS: * Clarifies mandate and purpose of Beam Physics meeting (taken from Design Comitee meeting) - Each lattice has a defined "Kummerer" or Contact Person (see slides) DS: * Physics working group has been kicked off, looking good. - issue: they want 14 mrad crossing angle, feasible in theory but takes away all margins -> strongly suggested from machine point of view to stay with 20 mrad MM: * Intra-Beam Scattering Studies for CLIC Damping Rings - methods to compute eq. phase-space distribution in presence of strong IBS Possible ways to solutions: 1) already existing codes 2) New semi-analytically strategy - new fellow expected to work on this from Oct 08 (person with past experience with IBS) Instrumentation: NB: slides are found at the meeting of 2th July 2008 RT: * a few BDS instrumentation numbers were presented, BPM, beam energy, emittance DS: * some comments on Main Linac (NB: still controversy over "accuracy", "precision" definitions) KE: * Post collision line - advantage: we don't need to worry about lum. loss anymore - Remarks RT: might be challenging to use the monitors presented by KE with tuning knobs because they are not prop. to. luminosity. Knobs are already difficult with simulations using ideal measurementes. EA: * Decelerator Next week: no meeting Two weeks: webex with damping rings EA, 9-jul-2008
