FA: presentes optics design considerations for a TME lattice
***************
- YP: notes: this analytical optimization has NOT ben done before for a TME cell (only numerical solutions)
- HB: important to think about effect of non-linearities as well (beta at sex.), YP: not yet taken into account in optimization
- challenge: we need high momemtum acceptance (+/- 1%) -> competing req. with min. emittance due to high momentum compaction factor
- challenge: need 0.8ms damping times (2 x faster than CLIC damping rings)
-> need damping wigglers and interleaved trains
HB: are we positive TME cell is the way to go? Maybe better with larger dipole fill factor
-> YP / FA : agrees, one should consider other cells as wel
DS: is emittance the right thing to minimize? ... YP: ... in fact no, not the most critical thing! Can e.g. get smaller momentum compaction factor if we increase emittance somewhat (can go to a factor 2 in emittance)
YP: the "emittance parameterization" curve is very nice, and can be used to optimize other criteria as well
YP/FA: next step, look at numerical solutions, start for full with MAD
