Stony Brook University is adjacent to the Long Island Railroad's Stony Brook train station (on the Port Jefferson branch). It is a 5-10 minute walk across the campus to the hotel and the Wang Center. From JFK Airport by public transportation:
From the airport, take the AirTrain to the Long Island Railroad Jamaica station. From there, take a LIRR train (about 1 hour) on the Port Jefferson branch to Stony Brook (eastbound toward Port Jefferson). You may have to transfer at either Hicksville or Huntington.
From Laguardia Airport by public transportation:
Take a taxi to the Jamaica train station and then take Long Island Railroad train on Port Jefferson branch to Stony Brook train station.
From New York City:
From Penn Station, take Long Island Railroad train on Port Jefferson branch to Stony Brook train station.
From Long Island/MacArthur Airport:
Take a taxi to the hotel - about 20 minutes.
By car:
Take the Long Island Expressway (Route 495) eastbound to exit 62 (Nicholls Road, County Road 97). Travel north about 8.6 miles staying on Nicholls Road. There are three entrances (on the left) into Stony Brook University. You will want to use the middle one marked "Main Entrance". To go to the hotel, once on campus, make the first left and the hotel will be on the left. There is free parking for those staying at the hotel. If traveling to the Wang Center, once on campus, the Wang Center will be directly ahead. Follow the directions to the parking garage and park.
