1) Inclusion of CAEN EASY A3801 Board
The new A3801 board has a few parameters related to the board itself and 128 ADC channels with very few parameters. He asked whether the experiments would rather have a single DPT for the board including the channels or a DPT for the board and a separate one for the ADC channel. In the latter case all boards would have 129 dps. Manuel proposed the first solution but this would prevent an ADC channel being a DU. It was not clear to the participants whether this would be a problem or not. It was agreed that Manuel contact the two sub-detectors using this board (one in ATLAS and one in CMS) to understand their needs. All experiments should confirm the usage of this board within their experiment.
2) FW Installation Tool New Features
Sascha gave a presentation on the new features of the FW Installation Tool as well as a couple of planned future improvements. His slides can be found attached to this agenda.
A few points were raised:
- Would it be possible to extend the function fwInstallation_getApplicationSystem to also return the version number as where as in which systems a particular component is installed?
- Would it be possible to define that a component needs at least a certain version or later of a particular PVSS manager?
- The panel is quite busy. Would it be better to change to a Tab format? Maybe later.
- Is it possible to export only DUs? Not currently.
