During last weeks I was working on the so called "virtual cuts", and on the
changes to its design, following several long discussions. Right now,
implementing a class TEntryList, which will be the base of the whole procedure
to save the results of already computed selections, and looking into the needed
changes in TTreeFormula.

- tested recently introduced changes in GUI classes by Valeriy
Onuchin and the new TGTextEditor class by Bertrand;
- implemented TGListTree::SavePrimitive, TGTextView::SavePrimitive
- working on TF1/2/3Editor(s) design
- investigated problem of object editor performance (caused by freely
emitted signals by GUI elements and corresponding slots execution).
Found a solution for all editors - will be in cvs today.
- working with David on the ability for resizing the space taken by each
header column in detailed view of TGListView

ask status of I/O Multi-threading for CMS
Philippe comments;
The following should be thread safe-ish:
TFile * f = TFile::Open(...);
TTree * t = new TTree(...);
t->SetDirectory(f);
TH1F *h = new TH1F(....);
h->SetDirectory(f);
AnyType *obj = new ....
f->Write(obj);

Improving TGlistView class
Olivier
=======
Not done yet:
* Investigate the possibility to translate the GS (PostScript) fonts
file into TTF file to replace those in $ROOTSYS/fonts.
* Implement the case with variable size bins in TH3::FitSlicesZ
In progress:
* Stress graphics: Add a new test in $ROOTSYS/tutorials to test the
graphics issues. It will be called stressGraphics.cxx
* Improve Polar graphs (we have now a first version which needs
many improvements) - (Will be proposed to the summer student.)
Done:
* TGraph2D needs improvements: TGraph2D is meant to work on randomly
distributed data sets. When the points are distributed on a regular
grid,one may see peaks if the graph is drawn with "surf" options.
The fix is almost done. Need more tests.
Also the TRI option need improvements as pointed here:
http://root.cern.ch/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3489
Not previously foreseen but done:
* TH3
- ProjectionZ and Project3D now take care of the alphanumeric labels.
* TH2
- ProjectionX(Y): In case the X(Y) axis has alphanumeric labels, they are
now copied in the 1D histogram being the result of the projection.

=====
* Next week I'm planning to add TGLSurfacePainter and, possibly,
TGLBoxPainter. May be, I'll add new error option for TGLLegoPainter and
error surfaces for TGLSurfacePainter.
* TGLLegoPainter
- "e" option added for cartesian
- bar width/offset added for cartesian
* TGLPlotPainter
- normals for trapezoids in polar/cylindrical/spherical
coordinates are better now, so lego is "smoother".
* TGLPadHistpainter/TGLAxisPainter/TGLLegoPainter
- new hist-painter infrastructure.
- First version of TGLLegoPainter, the new class to support different types
of legos:
gl + lego(1)/lego2 + pol/cyl/sph
gl + lego3
- TGLUtil : Small auxilary classes.
- This lego painter is still experimantal and works only if
it's enabled in system.rootrc. By default, TGLHistPainter is used now.
To enable this new system the line:
Plugin.TGLHistPainter: * TGLHistPainter RGL "TGLHistPainter(TH1*)"
Must be replaced with
Plugin.TGLHistPainter: * TGLPadHistPainter RGL "TGLPadHistPainter(TH1*)"
in $ROOTSYS/etc/system.rootrc
