There are now direct international flights from Hong Kong, Paris, Seoul, Singapore and Tokyo to Wuhan. The distance from Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou to Wuhan is more or less equal with many direct domestic flights and fast trains from major port cities like Beijing, Shanghai and Guangdong.
