Practical information

Oslo Gardermoen is the main international airport for Oslo that is served by many major European airlines (SAS, Air France, British Airways, KLM, Lufthansa, Brussels Airlines, Swiss, Austrian). There are several non-stop flights a day to many European destinations.

The airport is located about 47 km North of Oslo. A fast train (Flytoget) connects the airport with the city. It operates typically every 10 min to Oslo central station. The ride takes about 20 min. Tickets can be purchased at a machine (180 NOK) or at a counter (200 NOK). This is the most convenient transport. There is also the Norwegian State Railway that takes 23 min and costs 90 NOK. Taxi is very expensive (order 100 Euro and may take longer than the train).

The hotel (see map below) is within walking distance from the Central Station or you can take a taxi from there.

If you take the airport train one more station (every other train continues beyond the Central Station to the Nationaltheateret station) you get closer and need to walk only ~300m:

The best way to get from the hotel to the Education department (Helga Engs Hus), where the meetings on Friday will take place, is to take the subway (lines 4 or 6) from Stortinget or Nationaltheatret, or team up for a taxi. You get off at Blindernveien and walk to Helga Engs Hus:

The restaurant Friday evening is a ~15 minute walk from the hotel:
