By train
When you arrive at Bern main station, take the stairs from the platform down to the passageway and from there follow the signs "Universität Bern" to the elevators. (If you arrive in the main hall of the station, you have taken the wrong way!)
Take the elevator – or walk – up to the 4th floor (top floor), which will bring you outside. You are now on the terrace with a beautiful view of the Alps.
To reach the Institute of Physics, walk around the park to the right, passing in front of the main building and there you will see it! (red square)
At the reception desk, Ms. de Paoli will help you find the person you are looking for; the LHEP–Office is on the first floor, room 136.
By car
- Exit the freeway A1 (Geneve-Bern-Zurich) at Bern-Neufeld
- Proceed on the Neubrückstrasse towards the city center (Zentrum)
- Turn right at Mittelstrasse (first traffic circle)
- Turn left at Gesellschaftsstrasse (Migrol and Shell gas stations)
The building Exakte Wissenschaften is at the end of the road.
Please be aware that there is no long-term parking available around the institute, and that the costs of the nearby parking places are rather high. Mrs. de Paoli at the reception desk will gladly give you further advice.
