Description
The InfiniBand Architecture (IBA) is a new interconnect technology whose purpose is to provide a scalable switched fabric for both server-to-server and server-to-I/O communication. In addition to low latency and high bandwidth, IBA supports many new mechanisms and services, such as multiple transport services, send-recv & memory-to-memory semantics, and prioritised data flows. This presentation will provide an in-depth look at the InfiniBand Architecture. In addition, features specific to the high performance computing community will be covered, such as current MPI implementations over IB, as well as the latest benchmarking results comparing InfiniBand, Myrinet and Quadrics interconnect technologies.
