Description
Are you a Young Particle Physicist (*)? Would you like to learn more about the different options that the field is facing right now with respect to its future (a Linear Collider? where? CLIC?, etc.)? Are you interested in outreach, either to the public or to the government? Do you have suggestions about how the field could prepare you better for your next job, be it in the field or in industry? Are you interested in thinking about how to operate a detector or an accelerator remotely? Are there issues related with CERN/European HEP policies that you would like to discuss with other young people working here? If you answered yes to at least one of these questions, then we would like to invite you to an introductory meeting for a YPP chapter at CERN. YPP is a group composed of young particle physicists around the world interested in all aspects related with the field of HEP. There are local chapters, for example, at SLAC, FNAL, DESY, and also in universities. Some of the chapters are also concerned with issues that young particle physicists have at their own location.

Organiser(s): Veronique Boisvert / EP Division

Note: *Definition of a young particle physicist at CERN: anybody with a non-permanent position, located at CERN, so it can be a diploma student, a graduate student, a post-doc, a research associate, a fellow, an LD. He/she can be employed by CERN or by a home university or lab, and either be stationed at CERN or coming to CERN regularly. The subfield of HEP can be experimental particle physics (collider, fixed target, neutrino, etc), theoretical/phenomenological particle physics, or accelerator physics.
