In this seminar we will consider fractional and wrapped D branes that have less supersymmetric and nonconformal gauge theories living on their worldvolume for studying the gauge theory properties from their dynamics. We will show that we can reproduce their perturbative properties as for instance their chiral and scale anomaly, but in general we are not able to enter the nonperturbative region because of the presence of an enhancon that covers a naked singularity of the corresponding supergravity solution. In some case, however, corresponding to singularity free solution, as the one of Maldacena-Nunez, we are also able to enter the nonperturbative region of the gauge theory and obtain the gaugino condensate and the NSVZ beta function with fractional instanton corrections.
