Description
A simplified model of the machine protection system which includes
the Beam Interlock System, the Beam Loss Monitors, the Quench
Protection System, the Powering Interlock Controller and the Beam
Dumping System has been studied. The model provides quantitative
results for safety and availability of the complete system. The
importance of the assumed redundancy at the source of the dump
request and the system regeneration is demonstrated.
