Description
MicroBooNE is a neutrino experiment that utilizes a 170 t liquid argon TPC situated on the Booster Neutrino
Beam line at Fermilab. The first operational part of Fermilab’s SBN program, MicroBooNE started to take beam data in October 2015. The experiment aims to unambiguously probe the nature of the low-energy excess of showering events observed by MiniBooNE. This
poster describes the classes of background events associated with a search for a low-energy electron excess analysis in MicroBooNE, as well as discussing signal selection strategies utilizing both TPC and PMT information from the detector.
