The LHC has 1572 superconducting circuits. Most of the time and resources during the Hardware Commissioning were consumed by tests of each circuit of the collider, the so-called powering tests. The powering interlock systems for sc and nc magnets have been fully validated during HWC 2008. The presentation will summarise the changes and new functionalities that will be applied to the two interlock systems during the shut down and their impact on future re-commissioning. A large fraction of the MPS was commissioned in 2008 in view of the first LHC run, and first attempts to automate test sequences were implemented. The hardware changes and maintenance actions on the LHC injection and beam dumping systems will be presented. The requirements for equipment tests, hardware commissioning and machine check-out will be given, highlighting the dependence and the impact on other interfaced LHC equipment.

We will give an overview of the training of all the LHC superconducting magnets based on the experience acquired diring the hardware commissioning. Using this information and the data relative to the test of individual magnets during manufacturing, we will give a view on the expected requirements for the training at 5 and 7 TeV.
