Visa and transportation

Visa (important!)

Please be aware that foreign citizens are obliged to have russian visa upon entering the Russian Federation. Without visa you shall not pass the passport control at the airport. Please carefully read all instructions and clearly fill necessary documents.

There are two basic ways to get visa:

  1. (preferred) Apply to local visa agency for a tourist visa and provide necessary documents. The agency will take its charges in addition to the Consulate fee.

    OR

  2. Fill the supplied form and send it to Natalia Dokalenko (doknatasha@jinr.ru) along with the scan of your first passport page. All fields in the form are mandatory. In case you are applying for the visa not in your native country,  a copy of a residence permit should also be sent.
Upon receiving a reference number apply to your nearest Russian Consulate and follow the normal procedure for humanitarian visa. This type of visa is normally free, but takes longer time to prepare.

Travel

The Joint Institute provides transportation for foreign visitors directly from/to the airport. If you want to spend a few days aside from the workshop for Moscow sightseeing you have a possibility to use public transports.

Airport pick-up/delivery

For a direct Dubna-airport transfer please request a JINR transport delivery by supplying your arrival and/or departure date-time-flight number by e-mail to [to be assigned] and preferably by updating the registration form. Please observe that your request is confirmed.

For the participants and organizers' convenience the closest to Dubna, Sheremetevo airport is recommended for arrival. Thanking you for your consideration, the delivery will be more cost-efficient if more people arrive at the same period of time, say evening 17th February.

Public transport

There are express trains between airports and Moscow center available at the price of about 500R, which deliver you to one of the subway (Moscow metropoliten) stations. The trains to Dubna depart from Savelovskij train station (metro Savelovskaya). There are two types of trains: regional (~2.5h) and express (~2h). The timetables and prices are available here (can be reasonably translated by google).
