Description
This tutorial will provide practical guidance on building and running an analysis using the ATLAS software and distributed computing system. You will need to be registered with Atlas (i.e. have NICE account and be in the Atlas database) to proceed. Please follow this link if you need to register: http://atlassec.web.cern.ch/atlassec/Registration.htm A grid certificate and membership of the Atlas Virtual Organisation is also necessary for some aspects of the tutorial. Instructions can be found here: https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/viewauth/AtlasComputing/WorkBookStartingGrid Please make sure that you are familiar with ROOT and C++ basics. There are some web tutorials that you can use to familiarize yourself with ROOT, e.g., http://www.nevis.columbia.edu/~seligman/root-class/ or https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/viewauth/AtlasComputing/RootBasicTutorial. In case you have never used Python before, please also have a look at the basics of python, e.g., see the slides at https://indico.cern.ch/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=52191.
