Description

Resistive Plate Chambers (RPCs) are used in the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) as a dedicated trigger detector. Moreover, they contribute to the muon identification and reconstruction alongside Drift Tubes and Cathode Strip Chambers. The operational experience after more than one year of LHC collisions and the performance of the RPC detector during 2010 and 2011 will be reported.
