Getting There/Places to Stay

Places To Stay

Canary Wharf isn't great for places to stay. For convenience and price, the best bet is probably:
  • the Ibis Hotel in Greenwich which is a short trip away via the DLR, or
  • the Travelodge closer into town. This is close to the Tower Bridge DLR station, from which you can get the Lewisham-bound DLR trains directly to Heron Quays.
The Hilton Hotel in Canary Wharf is in walking distance of the office, although it's double the price of the other hotels.

Getting There

  • By Plane: The closest airport is London City Airport which has a DLR station, so is only around 15 minutes away from Canary Wharf. With more connections, the best airport is probably London Gatwick, from which you can get a train up to London Bridge station. At London Bridge, there are train connections to Greenwich, or via underground (Jubilee Line) to Canary Wharf.
  • By Train: The Eurostar comes into Kings Cross International station and from there you can take Northern Line underground to Bank and connect onto the Docklands Light Railway into Canary Wharf.
  • Underground: Canary Wharf is accessible from the Docklands Light Railway (DLR station "Heron Quays") or the Jubilee Line underground line (Canary Wharf station). Heron Quays and Canary Wharf station are just a few hundred metres apart from one another, however the Heron Quays station is the more convenient since it is immediately next to 20 Bank Street.
