How to reach Aligarh Muslim University
Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh is situated in the middle of Doab â the land between the Ganga and Yamuna rivers, at a distance of 130 km South-east of Delhi on the Delhi-Howrah rail route and the Grand Trunk Road. The climate is hot and dry in summer and cold and dry in winter with an intervening rainy season. The University campus is 2 km away from the Aligarh Railway Station.
By Air
Airport which is nearest to Aligarh is at New Delhi, the Indira Gandhi International Airport at a distance of about 160 kms. Several public as well as private carriers offer their service to and from Delhi. From Delhi, one can either hire a cab or take any train to Aligarh.
By Rail
Aligarh falls on the busy Delhi-Kolkata Grand Chord line and is therefore well connected to rest of India. The main railway station in Aligarh is Aligarh Junction. The junction is well connected to cities like New Delhi, Agra, Kanpur, Lucknow, Benaras, Jaipur, Kolkata and Mumbai through a cluster of super fast and express trains.
By Road
One of the oldest as well as the longest highways, the Grand Trunk Road, crosses through the city. Road links are well established to Noida, Delhi, Faridabad, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Mathura, Agra, Meerut and many other nearby cities. NH 91 and NH-93 passes through Aligarh.
