Flux-tubes as strings

I will describe a lattice study that aims to understand the spectrum of closed flux-tubes in SU(N) gauge theories. I will focus on the way string energies depends on the string length and, if time allows, on the flux the string carries. We find that the spectrum is well described by a Nambu-Goto model down to relatively short distances and moderately high energies.
