## General News

NTR

## New Release Status

CERN: new release should be put in testing under the production alias early next week
* Some delays to produce packages with the fix for the last issue mentioned at the last meeting due to various problems with the development infrastructure
* Packages now available with a few additional minor fixes

Packages now available for EL5/6/7.
* Existing configuration for the current version will work with the new versions
* EL5 version will not be published
  * Not supported anymore by EGI: end of retirement campaign

Still need to finalize the release notes

Short-term plan
* New release packages in umd-preview (EL6 and EL7) after tests at CERN next week
  * Andrea/Marco must send an email/GGUS ticket to Vincenzo/Alessandro when the packages are ready
* Encourage sites with ARGUS instabilities to upgrade and report improvements/issues
  * In umd3, upgrade should be easy as no configuration update is required
  
Impact of new version on NFS load: as said would be good if CERN could assess if it is the case or not
* Ben agrees to test it (turn off attribute caching)... even though he is worrying about the potential problems...
* Andrea: would be a good input for the development of a new backend for the mapping system
* To be done after initial validation of the new version
* Andrea : Attribute caching should not cause errors visible by users
  * If a second mapping creation was attempted for the same proxy, this would result in an error and there will be a transparent retry...
  
Test suite : pb with the way Argus was reading certificate fixed

New PIPs for IOTA CAs support: first code finished by NIKHEF student
* Some optimization needed in the code: identified with the stress tests
* Integration into Argus code after this (shortly)
* Release when ready: can be done at any time
  * Some pressure on the EGI side to support IOTA CA asap (by the end of the year)
  * Document the policy adjustments that may be needed
  

## Documentation

Two actions
* Need to add the release notes to the new documentation.
* On Twiki, replace the documentation by a link to the new one
  * Maarten will take care of this
