EP-ESE:
- the ELMB++ proposal based on the GBT-SCA was presented by Phillipe
- a demonstrator board, the VLDB, is available from EP-ESE to verify the technology in the lab
- design team to be formed, PL was assigned (Vladimir Ryjov)
- asked for feedback from users

Alice:
- no changes in requirements nor number of ELMBs (~250) foreseen
- keep (and need support of) current ELMBs as long as possible
- if, replacement would be easier in LS2 (major detector upgrades)

ATLAS:
- strong interest in replacements for LS3+, driven by higher radiation in cavern and unknown aging of current ELMB
- SCA proposal considered possible to adapt under some conditions, to be evaluated, important to understand how long e-links from hub to satellites could be
- mobile receiver suggested which may couple directly to satellites without GBT and coupled to back-end via simpler fieldbus (Ethernet...)
- expressed interest in more than thousand ELMB replacement boards across various sub-systems

CMS:
- internal discussions still ongoing

discussion points:
- LHCb: worries were expressed that the resource/power needs of a back-end platform driving a high number of SCAs via GBT would be potentially too high e.g. to transfer configuration data to the front-ends. In LHCb, front-end-specific optimizations in firmware are envisaged to overcome this. LHCb offered to share some performance results with the community.
- In general, the cost of the proposed solution was expected to be an issue. This could be mainly driven by the cost of the GBT and VTRX components and the associated GBT receiver. Thus a variant/option without optical connections might be an option to reduce costs.
- It was raised that a pin-to-pin compatible replacement is really needed since the lifetime of the current ELMB is unknown and many users seem to need the functionality at least until the end of the LHC.
- The versatility of the ELMB was expressed to be a big advantage resulting in its current widespread use and the proposed SCA-based approach seems to weaken this
- compatibility of SCA ADC with commonly used sensors was questioned
