Participants: E. Adli, F. Antoniou, B. Dalena, K. Elsener, L. Rinolfi, F. Stulle, R. Tomas, A. Vivoli
F. Stulle informed that from today on in the Indico agenda a point AOB will be added and submitter rights will be granted to anyone on the clic-beam-physics mailing list. The intention is to allow the upload of contributions to the meetings, which were not expected and did not get their own point on the agenda.
L. Rinolfi continued last weeks talk on the CLIC main beam injector. Main topic was the production of polarized positrons in a compton ring scheme. The alternative layout using an undulator is mainly followed by collaborators also working for ILC since ILC utilizes this scheme. It was discussed whether or not the 500GeV parameters L.R. showed on one slide are nominal or conservative parameters. K. Elsener asked how the optical cavity works and if the polarization of the laser plays a role. This was discussed and L.R. confirmed that positron polarization depends on laser polarization. K.E. also asked about the level of polarization which can be reached. L.R. said it would be around 80%, which is a lot higher than expected for the ILC baseline of 30% (an upgrade is foreseen to 60%). The major difference is stronger collimation of the positrons at CLIC.
