Description
The central goal of this event is to support those intending to port applications to EGEE Grid infrastructure. But, also people with no prior experience of grid computing are welcome too.
The course is scheduled into three parts:
- The first part will be concerned shortly with the project EGEE, Grid security, and a basic information of gLite middleware (optionally, details could be discussed according to interest of attendants).
- The second part will focus on gridifying applications, with emphasis on the gLite workload management and data management services, JDL, and advanced job types.
- The third part includes the hands-on session. Participants are advised to bring their own laptops for this session with having SSH client installed (e.g. PUTTY on Windows, SSH terminal on Linux).
In case you would like to try running your own application on the grid, bring the executable file and input files with. Note: the application had to be compiled and linked on Linux.
