WLCG Accounting Task Force Meeting
Attended:
Maria, Miguel, Julia, John, Steve, Adrien, Ivan, Pepe, Andrew
John provided an overview of the status of the htcondor accounting in apel for varios CEs.
The best situation is for ARC, latest versions are fine for apel accounting for htcondor.
For CREAM and HTCondor CEs there are couple of different scenarios. Julia asked John to investigate whether we can offer concrete working recipes for sites woth various configuration. John agreed to give another update at the next WLCG Operations Coordination on the 3rd of November.
Julia presented a proposal for the migration to the new accounting reports. Plan was agreed. More work is required to check correctness and consistency of all headers, labels and notes in the new report. One of the conditions for the final migration to the reports generated by the portal is deploying T0 new accounting reporting in production. Miguel confirmed that this could be done in October.
Miguel pointed out to the entry page of the new portal which shows wrong wallclock without taking into consideration number of cores and therefore is very confusing, since it shows higher numbers for CPU than for wallclock. Needs to be fixed.
Julia pointed out to the necessity to follow up on sites which apparently report wrong data to APEL and encouraged experiment representatives to progress on this work. Alessandra started to do this for ATLAS. There is a section at the task force twiki where we should track the progress.
The draft of the specification of the WLCG-dedicated accounting portal is attached to the twiki page. Julia asked people to have a look and comment.
Next meeting will be on the 27th of October
