AFS service/operation meeting

AFS ops meeting 2017-03-06

Issues:

• 2x router reboot: first affects CDS/INDICO/INSPIRE and 2/3 afsdb servers, second most home directories

  • Jan to warn Tim Smith.

• AFS phaseout meeting (need minutes)

• AFS survey done by BE-ABP - https://indico.cern.ch/event/613511/ (overlap in questions but show high dependency on AFS)

• Catherine question on 2nd-level flowchart for quota increases - do our "user" KBs cover this? (yes, but perhaps not in a way that is suitable for Helpdesk) Do we want to maintain this chart? no.

  • follow-on: see whether user scratch areas are still being created, or can be stopped

• "uuuafs" needs new password = keytab

• AFS server retirements in 2017 - still waiting for answer from EricB
