Description
We study pair production of first and second generation squarks in pp
collisions at the LHC. In addition to the well-known SUSY QCD diagrams, we
compute the contributions from the exchange of an electroweak gauge boson
or gaugino. The dominant effect is due to the interference between
electroweak gaugino and gluino exchange diagrams, and leads to an
enhancement of the total cross section that can be larger than that due to
NLO QCD corrections.
