Description
I will present searches for high mass resonances in the WW final state. One is a search for a Standard Model (SM) Higgs boson decaying into W boson pairs. This search is based on integrated luminosity of up to 19/fb of pp collisions at sqrt(s) = 8 TeV in the high mass regime 600 < mH < 1000 GeV. The search is performed in the semi-leptonic channel where the hadronically decaying W boson is highly boosted and its decay products are contained in one jet. Jet substructure techniques are used in identifying the hadronically decaying W. Additionally, I will discuss searches for Graviton and W’ production in the same final state.
A Level-1 (L1) Track Trigger Demonstration System for CMS Phase-2 upgrade is also presented. A L1 silicon-based track trigger is required for CMS to maintain physics acceptance for the most important trigger objects (leptons, photons, jets, and MET) in the HL-LHC era. The success of a Vertical Slice Demonstration System will provide the required proof-of-principle for L1 track reconstruction and will allow the design of Phase-II CMS Tracker to be finalized.
