Developer's meeting
present: Eric, Kevin, Milo, Frank
We mostly discussed details concerning the data frames:
- it turns out that the MicroBooNE noise is (a) ~ 2 counts, i.e., smaller than the 10 counts we had been assuming previously; and (b) not uniform across channels. Notably, it depends on the wire length. Given the different wire lengths used in ProtoDUNE-SP and in MicroBooNE, and possible differences between the electronics (and wire spacing), it is not entirely evident that we can simply use the MicroBooNE numbers
- Eric and Milo discussed details of the frame generator (the idea was to reverse-engineer one MicroBooNE event into raw data, in the form expected for ProtoDUNE-SP)
The only discussion of the upcoming MSW 3 revolved around the firmware issue. Milo promised to follow up with the experts to gauge the progress there.
[ Post-meeting: the missing 4 bytes have been identified. However, there is another issue that -even if it is more rare- will similarly cause felixcore to choke. No news on this as yet. ]
