Following the successes of several previous symposia on

dedicated imaging instrumentation*

CERIMED, INFN, IN2P3, ISS, WVU

announce

the 8th thematic symposium

Advanced Intraoperative Imaging of Radioisotopes

5,6  September  2009

Hotel Baia delle Zagare, Mattinata-Gargano Italy

pre-symposium workshop TOF PET

4  September  2009

The focus of this symposium is intraoperative imaging of radioisotopes. Within the scope of the symposium are all aspects of pre-, intra-, and post-operative nuclear medicine (NM) imaging used in support of, or as part of, the surgical management of various medical conditions. Thus, the scope of the symposium includes surgical procedures in which radiopharmaceuticals are or might be used; includes results of clinical investigations incorporating intraoperative NM imaging in surgical procedures; includes protocols and systems for intraoperative NM imaging, includes technologies that are used or might be used in the construction of intraoperative NM imaging systems, includes radiopharmaceuticals that might be used in intraoperative NM imaging, and includes complementary or competing intraoperative imaging technologies.

*In 2001, the Istituto Superiore di Sanitài (ISS) (http://www.iss.it) led organization of a symposium on dedicated instrumentation for breast imaging. Since 2001, there have been symposia on Compton Cameras (Baia delle Zagare, 2002) and Prostate Imaging (Rome, 2005) organized by ISS with INFN, Jefferson Lab (http://www.jlab.org), and the Università degli Studi di Roma "La Sapienza (http://www.uniroma1.it), and on Vascular Imaging (Rome, 2006), Breast Imaging (Marseille, 2007), and Stem Cell Imaging, (Marseille, 2008) organized by ISS, INFN, and CERIMED (http://cerimed.web.cern.ch). Websites of some past symposia can be found at (http://www.iss.infn.it/web/eventi/eventi.htm).
