Description

About the workshop

Rucio is a project that provides services and associated libraries for allowing scientific collaborations to manage large volumes of data spread across facilities at multiple institutions and organisations. Rucio has been developed by the ATLAS experiment and is now in use by two other experiments : AMS, Xenon1T and is evaluated by other communities. Rucio offers advanced features, is highly scalable and modular. It is a data management solution that could cover the needs of different communities in the scientific domain (e.g., HEP, astronomy, biology). Rucio is supported by a strong team of developers.

In order to present Rucio to a wider audience, the developers will organize a two days workshop at CERN (1-2 March 2018) where they will present Rucio, its concepts and the ongoing and planned developments. The workshop will be then devoted to the information exchange between the Rucio developers, service administrators and the various interested communities (and possible collaborations) in order collect feedback and requirements.

We welcome everyone who wants to know more about Rucio to join this workshop. We set up a mailing list to which you can subscribe and where we will send more details about the program in the coming weeks.
