10am start – Ideasquare, CERN Atlas Site

A short presentation on the project and objectives for the day.

2 streams of activity:

1) OBD-II communication; what can we get out of the cars; odometer, fuel level, door opening/closing 

2)Hardware integration; testing the Openauto Pi Hat with Raspberry Pi and Arduino; aim to get raw data and basic functionality up and running: GPS, Realtime Clock, RFID, Relay control, CAN bus interface.

12:30 – 1:30 Lunch – Ideasquare 

3:00 – 3:30 Site tour (TBC)

3:30 – Continue work

6:30 - 7:00 Wrap up session & close.


A second day focused on open car electronics car architecture and reverse engineering of existing car electronic systems. The day will be organised with The aim of the day will be to produce an open source alternative to the Mobility car sharing service for community use.

Attendance at the first day is not a requirement for participation in Day 2, neither are any particular IT or electronics skills beyond a willingness to learn!

Lunch (including fresh home made bread!) will be provided for all participants.
